The most busy shopping day of the year just passed, the day after Thanksgiving. Did anyone here brave the stores that day?

I made it a point not the leave the house that day. I went and got food and water beforehand and stayed inside. My town gets crazy on that day.

My family doesn't do gifts anyways. What about the rest of you?

My family doesn't really do christmas gifts either. Maybe a few things that we actually need (i.e. a pair of pants without holes). Sometimes we take that money and go to Jamaica, but it doesn't sound like we will be making it this year do to the ravishing of our prop. by the hurricane. Literally, no trees. They aren't knocked over... they're just gone.

I just can't see Colin Farrel (sp?) being a "hero" character. He's always just a badass.

Well, wasn't Alexander the Great really just a badass with alot of people following him? Seriously, you have to be some sort of badass to march a huge army through the mountains at wintertime, lose alot of men and elephants to the elements before the battle, and still kick ass when ya get there...

True, but not the same type of badass. That is a hero badass where I see colin farrel as a more shoot 'em up type badass (i.e. swat)

When ever I see Colin Farrel's name, I think Will Farrel... then I laugh... Does that make me a bad person?

i see him as more of a sissy, sort of like how i had a hard time with "the bourne identity" because matt damon looks like a little smooshy smurf man.

I didn't have a problem with Colin Farrell. But I did have a problem with the accent that Angelina Jolie was trying to pull off (way over the top and bad). Overall the movie was beautifully shot, the battle scenes were nice and brutal, and the story was quintessential Greek tragedy with lots of allusions to mythology both figuratively and literally.

I liked the movie, mostly because I'm a literature geek, who gets excited about that kind of stuff, and because I think Oliver Stone, historical accuracy aside, is a good director, who knows how to tell a good story through a lense.) That's my review (oh, and I don't mind sitting through 3 hour long movies. Apparently a lot of people do -- unless it's Lord of the Rings.)
