CD-RW

    I got my new CD-RW today. i can record a a CD-RW in 8 minutes, YES!!!. but i had to take my old DVD drive out. oh well/

    You need a new G4 which has a DVD and a CD-RW in one. Man those new G4's rule!

    I agree the new G4s are nice, but the design is getting old. Apple needs to refresh the PowerMac line soon, or we'll never catch up with Wintel. :(

    agreed. New case design and new hardware. We need G5s with NV20s and DDR RAM in a new case design.

    Now a question. can i turn my internal old DVD drive that is ATAPI into and external firewire?

    yes, you need one of those external cases with the built in IDE to firewire converter. Then just throw the drive in there.

    just out of curiousity

    Why didn't you just get an external firewire CDRW drive instead of getting an internal, yanking your DVD, then putting the DVD in an external enclosure with an IDE/firewire converter? 8)

    All of these solutions are not correct. The only thing you can do is ship your DVD drive to me.

    I got an internal CD-RW because it was only 150 dollars

    G4 400mhz, very first addition. i checked out firewirestuff.com, but no cases, any other ideas?
