I know lots of the good games coming out that are gonna need good video cards to play them, and becuase I am hoping that I am going to start a clan, (maybe a War3 one in the future) and I need a good card to run it. (currently have a 4MB video card [IMG] [IMG]) It sucks! I am hoping to get one of the following:
    1. Nexus Card (32MB) - ATI
    2. Rage Orion (16MB) - ATI

Ethier one would be good enough to run War3.
I'll tell you guys what, I am ain't getting a Voodoo card. [IMG]

I'm getting the Voodoo 5 myself. It may not be the fastest thing out there, but it supports the Glide API which is the deciding factor for me. Plus the Voodoo cards have the goodies like FSAA and motion blur, etc.

Woah, better start saving all your cash, those things are steep in price.
Jake, do you have another computer? It's kind of odd to put a Voodoo 5 super high-end card into an iMac don't you think? I mean, unless you have a DV it might be better to put that 300.00$ american towards a new computer.

I'm drooling over the possibility of getting an Nvidia card. They rock. Even their low end chip blows anything ATI makes away. Now that they have announcedthat the chip supports Mac style output in hardware, somebody will hopefully make a Mac board/drivers.

Some magazine in Germany just announced that Apple has licenced NVidia to OEM for them. Most likely AGP, I would think. I don't think they'd want to repeat the ATI Rage+ mess...

I've got a Voodoo 3 2000 that rocks quite well. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to want to work properly with my ATI Rage Pro in my IBM (need it to work with my ancient, second hand DVD).

Something about not only Windows 98 being multi-monitor compliant, but the cards have to be too? I'm seriously thinking of popping my Voodoo 1 out of my G3 and dropping the V3 in there in its place. AUGH. I wish windows was as easy to use as the Mac.

Though I could probably make it work, I wouldn't put the Voodoo5 in my iMac. I would put it in my multiprocessor G4 when it comes out.

Damn right, pal. The ATI Radeon will be the ultimate gaming card out. If you haven't yet read about it, read about now. It's gonna be made for gaming. ATI.com

I dunno, ATI is bleeding money, might never see that card. One thing you learn regarding computer hardware is, you buy what you can afford when you want/need it. Of course if a big show where new products are to be announced is just around the corner, wait. I've got zero faith in ATI, thank god 3dfx and Nvidia are looking Mac-ward.

Nvidia is better than ati of course but im not sure if they will produce this card.
And i don't want to buy a Voodoo 5 cause they lack of a GPU. Still there is no games requiring this feature yet but there will be plenty in a year or so then the VooDoo5 will be useless. And they have no AGP support(who cares that?? [IMG]))

The new Voodoos are way better than the Nexus or Orion. By FAR!
