My family has got lots of old AppleWorks (ClarisWorks) 6.0 files. Now the old cds AppleWorks are on seems to be scratched or something. I cannot install AppleWorks.
I have Office 2001 for OS9 but it cannot open the files directly. Is there a way to convert them?
Otherwise I will have to pirate an AppleWorks app from Carracho/Hotline/KDX. And we don´t want that, do we. Please help.

office should be able to open anything. try openning the program and selecting open from the file menu, or maybe there is an import option under the file menu.

That or try the Office X 30-day trial from M$. It's newer and may be able to do things that Office 2001 cannot.

Nope, when you do that you get a small meny with several ways to import the file. You can select AppleWorks 5.0 but that doesn´t work since the files are 6.0. Other options give you the text butwith lots of strange "!#%"#€&!%"/%&"/!"

Anyway, I managed to install AppleWorks again, so all is well now.
