What's the difference between a retail and a normal shop?

retail is just refering to a store where you can go and buy product. Apple has never had their own dedicated stores. They have a store within a store thing going with CompUSA (the back corner has apple stuff), but that's it. These are Apple branded retail stores.

There's a store in Eugene, OR that's mac only, I dunno if that's what you mean by "dedicated" (it's called The Computer Store :))

By dedicated he means its run by Apple to sell their products, rather than a third party, as in the case of that store you speak of.
