Has there been any word on when the Sound Blaster Live! will ship? All I've seen is "Coming soon" and that does nothing for me.

The card looks great, i'm jusr curious how long it will take before i can get my hands on one.

Are we talking about the mac version? I heard about them going to add it to applestore as a BTO option, but haven't heard anything since.

Gekko, have you noticed that every recent thread in the help forum was created by you?

what's the price on this bad boy? I actually heard that a sound card can increase the performance on games because it releases some CPU calculations?....any truth to that?

Yes. Right now the processor does all the sound computations.

Add a sound card and it frees up the processor to do more.

If you're thinking about purchasing a Geforce 3, throughing in a sound card would be a very good idea. You'll need all the processing power you can get just to keep up with nVidia's new GPU. Even a 1GHz G4 will be a bottleneck. :D

I thought I read somewhere that Macs won't benefit that much initially from the offloaded sound processing because all the software is designed to do it the "old" way. But with newer games and with OS X you should see the benefit.

No, the SBLive! takes over all sound function, believe it or not. Creative made sure the card would support legacy audio. That may be the reason for the delay. :)
