- New web host.
- I just changed web hosts again. If I am satisfied
with them I will redirect my domain. Until then we are running
from an IP.
-
- Live chat!
- My new web host has a built-in feature for
live chat. Both Mac IE and NS have performance issues with this
chat feature. Opera and most PC browsers perform much better.
-
- Last night we had 10 people chatting. We
organized a UT game that was pretty fun. I think this chat feature
will work out well. :)

- Star Conquest on GameRanger.
- I just received the following announcement
from Scott Kevill, creator of GameRanger, an online multiplayer
gaming client for Mac:
-
- Perth, Western Australia -- April 24, 2001
-- Scott Kevill today announced the addition of a new game title
to GameRanger, the Macintosh multiplayer online gaming service.
In addition to the 66 previous titles, gamers can now play Star
Conquest.
-
- Star Conquest is a turn-based strategic wargame
played as a single player, multi-player or network game. Up to
ten players can play in a game, accompanied by up to ten computer
controlled players. Your objective is to guide your species in
its expansion to all corners of the known Universe.
-
- You start with two or more populated Planets
and a small number of Star Ships. Using these Star Ships you
have to explore and colonise other Star Systems. Soon you will
encounter other species. Will you choose to conquer all, or perhaps
fight as part of an alliance? Each year you can decide what strategy
to follow, moving Star Ships or Fleets to attack or defend, colonising
Planets and exploring Star Systems. Once every player has issued
his or her commands, the year ends and the results are calculated.
The game continues until all players are eliminated and only
a single player or alliance remains.
-
- GameRanger, the Macintosh multiplayer online
gaming service, was first introduced for public beta testing
in July 1999 with support for 11 game titles, and had already
received many rave reviews, including an award of "Best
Internet Gaming Achievement" by Macworld Magazine in their
1999 Hall of Fame. GameRanger now has over 48,000 members and
support for over 60 popular game titles.
-
- The GameRanger client is a free download
off the internet.
