Garona is another great example from Warcraft's past. As to estimates of 40%, this may very well be the case, which is where questing or other difficult deeds comes in. We're discussing the issue, not the implementation. Any problem such as this one can be alleviated very simply, just by making it hard to do.

Haite, Arthas pulled the sword to save his people; however, it consumed his soul and ended up doing the complete opposite. He lost his free will with his taking of FrostMourne, thus making it not even Arthas anymore.

Ok, now its time to get busy.

Im not acting as WC and LOTR are the same! Your just friggin psyco! It doesnt matter why i used LoTR as an example! It was the first thing that came into my head! Thats all!
The main part of that post was not the WC > LoTR thing you stupid dumbass. Have you even read this !&$%ing thread?

Why were there humans joining Saurons army in LoTR?

- Becouse of many reasons. They could be searching for power. They could be under a spell. They could be whatever.

This is not impossible to happen in WoW.

Why could a Human not join the Horde becouse the human thinks that the Horde will give him more power? Why not? WHY FRIGGIN NOT? And im not acting as if WC is the same as LOTR. Your just beeing plain braindead.

Garona was not an Orc, she was shunned by them. -zigon

Are you slow or something? Garona was half orc (still counts boyo!), and she was shunned AFTER she betrayed the horde by becomming an informant for the humans... again how is this not supporting my point? Either way she traded sides!
And that is the issue here.

Come on guys, let's focus on the issue at hand. I think we are getting lost in the lower level stuff. I mean... why are we talking about LoTR all-of-a-sudden?

How it relates to Arthas the man is irrelevant. We're losing sight of the subject at hand. People switch sides. The how is less important than the fact that they do for this discussion. The history of Warcraft clearly shows a culture and war in which there are many individuals who see the "enemy" as the preferred ally, for whatever reason. Players may have different motives too. What matters is that it happens, and this is my original point. For the record, Garona, is a half-human/half-orc hybrid, but this doesn't matter. She served the Alliance as a spy while working within the Horde. Perhaps the devs, if they took the results of this poll seriously, could implement spying and treachery in a manner to create intrigue and entertainment to the World of Warcraft environment.

DeathCraft, you said before that since Humans joined Sauron, that Humans should be able to join Undead.

That arguement is invalid. You can't use one universe to say something will fit in different one.

No, if you allow people to switch you might as not have racially restricted factions in first place.

Why where there Humans joining Saurons army in Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers?

...

Exactly...

Q u o t e:
Hahhahahahaha exactly

please keep on proving my point. The point is not the movie, but why people from one side can join the other.

Q u o t e:
are you stupid? How about another exampel in order to get in into your stupid head?

Why did GFraizer start working for SOE instead of Blizzard?

And yes, i call you stupid as i please, becouse guess what, ITS MY OPINION.

...Now where exactly did i said that since a human joined Sauron, that humans should be able to join specifily Undead? The Horde as in Orc, Troll Tauren and Undead. Not The Horde as in Undead.

This arguement is very valid. Humans did not join Sauron becouse it was LoTR. It was becouse they were EVIL humans. That was the key word. They were EVIL. Why could a human not become EVIL and join the undead. I mean, a Dreadlord joined Sylvanas in time of defeat. If not Peter Jackson or Tolkien has gotten a copyright saying that you cant use the word EVIL HUMANS, your wrong.

And as we have seen, nothing is impossible in Warcraft.

I think some are forgetting that effectively changing wont be an actual change ur still in ur faction but if u change effectively u can like, party with a friend in another faction. Right?

Maybe you still wont be able to go into there towns and such but what if effectively changing allows you to remove the barrior between you and ur friends

I vote yes.

I think if it were implemented, it should be: 1 - difficult & 2 - maybe the "traitors" could lose something. For one, they won't be able to enter their original faction's towns (killed on sight by NPCs). Another one might be that the new faction's NPCs would raise their prices for that person (they would be too suspicious, perceive you as a spy (maybe with time it could change)). Other thinks can be thought of. That way, only the hardcore "traitors" will switch.

I still think that such a feature is in the works. I remember seeing a "reputation" bar in several E3 screenies. By the looks of it greefing will be minimal, then why else would such a bar exist? Maybe for the "faction changes"?
