@Jaden
"Due process is more than following rules. It speaks of protection against arbitrary decisions (see definition)."

I graduated second in my class from one of the top 5 law schools in the country, received 16 Am Jur awards, was executive editor of my law review and was nominated to the Order of the Coif. I feel fairly certain that I do not need a link to dictionary.com to inform me of what due process is.

Your interpretation of this "definition" is wrong, and I am beyond bored with this discussion.

Argumentum ad Verecundiam.

Your credentials do not change the dictionary definition or the validity of my arguments. Such an appeal to authority is above even our semantical debate which I have painstakingly addressed through careful explanation of my intended meaning, a meaning that is within the scope of the dictionary definition which you have now fallaciously discounted.

I have my own list of impressive credentials, but they are not relevant here.

That's not the point - the point is that you used a dictionary to define a term which has been being defined and redefined in more than 200 years of US case law. The second point is that you even misread that.

If you want to offer up your legal credentials, I'm ready for them any time. If you want to make an argument that actually follows from what you have read (that either I have written or you have found in the dictionary), I am ready for that too. You keep misreading things and putting your own bad interpretation on them, and frankly, you are wearing me and everyone else out.

By the way, where in the BAH rules does it say that you are entitled to due process? This is a theocracy - get used to it. Shocked Heheh - kidding.

This will absolutely be my last response to you on this subject, no matter how preposterous I find your next argument, so go for it ...

Yes, I used a dictionary to define a term. That is what they are for.

Actually the burden of argument is on you to debunk my recent posts. If indeed my posts are wrong then you should be able to attack them using rational argument. So far you have offered only logical fallacy to that end, as if we were to say:

Jaden - "This is how it is and this is why."
Laila - "You are wrong because I say so."

I have refuted your counter to my arguments as being fallacious by citing a clearly defined and widely accepted logical fallacy, argumentum ad verecundiam (appeal to authority).

I'm gonna offer my two cents. We have two members that desparately want to be a end game guild (though only one has appeared in this thread, curious), and can't fathom the concept nor execution of BaH. They repeatedly, in this post and others, desire to draft a guild constitution. They refuse to acknowledge anything beyond the scope of thier own myopic point of view and as such rather that make a statement as to what it is they feel should be addressed, they get involved in a 3 page diatribe set to inflame others. Constructive conversation is much prefered to this forum trolling. However debate team personnel are taught from infancy to argue thier point of view even if its whats currently agreed upon.

Its pointless, If you had anything worthwhile to say it would have been something like this:

As we are clearing MC in one day lately, is there any plan to clarify the policy on Legendary drops?

Answer:
Yes, the discussions are on going

But you'll flame me for this post even though your own question was answered somewhere on the first page of this mess.

I don't see trolling, just a heated debate over unimportant issues given that a decision has already been made. Who are these two people? If you don't like forum trolling then you shouldn't contribute to it with anonymous name calling.

Jaden...

Laila has not committed the logical fallacy you impute to him. You are incorrectly using technical terms from his area of expertise, and he has pointed that out to you. Imagine the following dialogue.

JADEN: The heart is the seat of emotions and regulates the bodily humours.

PERRY COX, MD: Medically, everything you just said is total bullshit. I know this because I went to medical school and have been a practicing physician for many years... Doris.

JADEN: You cannot refute my argument by appeal to authority. Or by calling me a girl's name.

COX: *snarls, grimaces, throws up hands*

In our sample dialogue, Dr. Cox is appealing to a wide body of medical knowledge which he has no time to adduce in detail. You, on the other hand, are using a forensic technique worthy of a radio talk show host- you assume your ignorance of the facts puts you on an equal footing with those less ignorant.

This discussion no longer has anything to do with any "member suggestions". Please direct any further comments to the "Soapbox" thread in the Inn subforum.
